Oh how I love the random snows and freezing cold April days that DC always seem to bestow upon us...

This past weekend was one of the most glorious days of the year. After a week of clouds and rain (what ever happened to APRIL showers bring May flowers?!), we got a few beautiful glimpses of sunshine.
Let me tell you friends, I LIVE for the sunshine and warmth. If our families didnât live on the east coast, Iâd move to California in a heartbeat. People have started to take notice too - this past weekend, Shawnâs grandfather commented, âIâve never seen someone love the sun so much.â
Iâll paint you a picture - itâs Saturday afternoon, post-picnic. Everyone is chatting inside, but not Julien. Sheâs sprawled out on the sofa by the pool. Her eyes are closed, but sheâs smiling. All the glare, donât care. Sheâs soaking up a winterâs worst of Vitamin D.
It was much like this day with my amazing friend, Erin. An unusually warm day a few weeks ago pulled me out of my office cube for a quick lunch with this babe. You can see it on my face - the happiness, the joy! The pure, unadulterated glee.
Not just the sun - but being around people who bring out the joy in you makes all the difference. Ever since we met, thereâs just something magical - like we were sisters in a past life.
Be sure to keep up with Erin and all her beautiful photos on Instagram.

Borrowed from the boyfriend
THIS BLAZER, you guys. I've worn it about a million other times IRL since I bought it. If you've seen me out in the wild more than once, changes are, I was wearing this blazer. When I first tried it on in Anthom, a friend asked, âbut why are the shoulders so low? It looks huge!â But that didnât matter because I knew. I knew it would soon become one of my favorite jackets precisely because of itâs perfect, oversized shape.
Itâs very borrowed-from-my-boyfriend without actually looking like it. The way it falls, the way it FEELSâĶitâs magic.
This certainly wasnât the first time Iâd borrowed from the boys, so to say. I got this Calvin Klein coat for Christmas last year (much to the chagrin of my mom who insisted it was too big, no mom, thatâs the style) and most of the shoes I wear every day (ESPECIALLY these gems from Everlane!) are very menswear-inspired. Then there was the time I wore my husbandâs button-up as a skirt. That happened.
Thanks for the note, boys. I can take it from here.
